Septarian Nodule
These nodules were formed millions of years ago, when the Gulf of Mexico finally reached what is now southern Utah. Decomposing sea life, killed by volcanic eruptions, had a chemical attraction for the sediment around them, forming mud balls. As the ocean receeded, the balls were left to dry and crack. Because of their Bentonite content, they also shrank at the same time, trapping the crack inside as decomposed calcite from the shells.
A thin wall of calcite was transformed into aragonite, separating the bentonite clay exteriors from the calcite centers. This mineral is very powerful in aiding transmission of thought between two people, oftentimes, lending the giver the ability to communicate with the receiver. It also brings lightness and joy with depth of beauty to the wearer. It aids in multi-directional energy distribution. This is a very powerful and positive piece belonging in any serious ‘users’ collection.
