Worry Stones
Having their origin in Ancient Greece, worry stones have been used through the ages by all classes of people. Carved from crystals or minerals, worry stones have a concave surface and are often not much larger than the upper joint of your thumb. When they're cut smaller to be more obscure, they're refered to as pillows.
Their concave surface is perfect for rubbing with the ball of your thumb to rub away your worries and anxieties. They’re small enough to carry around in your pocket and rub throughout the day without anyone having any idea what you’re doing!! It is believed that by rubbing the stone, you transfer your worries, fears and anxieties into the stone, while, at the same time, absorbing the particular energy of whatever crystal or mineral from which the stone is carved.
The stones can be cleansed by bathing them in a weak salt water solution and rinsing them in clear water. Some folks cleanse their healing crystals by letting them bathe overnight in the direct light of a full moon. If you’re lucky enough to live by the coast, ocean water is ideal for this purpose!!
